Now is a critical time to share this action alert with your coworkers, family, friends, and networks. With end of year federal legislation packages coming together, we need as much support as possible for this pragmatic solution to ensure our workforce is strong and stable to serve our population as we age. Contact your members of Congress today and urge them to support, cosponsor, and pass the Healthcare Workforce Resilience Act (H.R. 6205/S. 3211) before the end of the year.
America is in the midst of a demographic crisis: As the population of older adults with complex care needs grows dramatically, the pool of available workers is declining at a dangerous rate. This bi-partisan bill which would create a pathway for 40,000 foreign-born nurses and physicians to work in the U.S. health care and aging services sector by reallocating 40,000 previously congressionally authorized visas for 25,000 foreign born nurses and 15,000 physicians— significant support that is critically needed for the healthcare and aging services sector.
Highly skilled nurses are needed immediately, and we can’t afford to lose qualified talent to a broken immigration system. Make your voice heard today!
