DHS Offering Webinar on Disability Waiver Cost Reporting

Beginning this year, providers of services to disability waiver clients must submit information on the cost of providing services to DHS. Providers are selected to submit information through the Disability Waiver Rate System (DWRS) cost reporting platform every five years. Providers selected for this first year were notified at the end of March.
DHS Delays Submission of COVID-19 Cost Schedule Indefinitely

Last week, DHS postponed the special COVID-19 supplemental cost report schedule to track the receipt and use of state and federal funds related to pandemic response until May 3. However, after further reflection on the lack of federal guidance on the reporting of provider relief funds to the federal government, DHS has decided to postpone the submission of the COVID schedule by care centers indefinitely.
Due Date Approaches for Cost Reports Delayed Due to COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) delayed the due date for the cost report for the year ended Sept. 30, 2020 from Feb. 1, 2021 to April 1, 2021. That date is now approaching so members will need to focus on completing that report.
DHS Posts Cost Report Information; Working on Rate Notices

DHS has posted the materials for the annual care center statistical and cost report for the year ending September 30, 2020 and the corresponding instruction manual on the DHS Nursing Facility Provider Portal. DHS also indicates that there will be a Supplemental Schedule to the 2020 cost report that is not yet final but is being developed to address various issues including use of federal relief funds. DHS expects the 2020 Supplemental Schedule to be available in mid-December, and they ask that providers refrain from submitting any 2020 Cost Reports before December 15. As always, cost reports are due by February 1.
