New! BELTSS Releases Assisted Living Director Licensure Application
Posted on April 14, 2021 by Bobbie Guidry
The Minnesota Board of Executives for Long-Term Services and Supports (BELTSS) has announced that Minnesota Rule 6400.5000 regarding the licensing of assisted living directors has been approved, allowing the legal authority to begin online applications on April 19. Application information and online application can be accessed via the Board’s website.
The Board asks that individuals who qualify for one of the five legacy pathways apply as soon as possible and before 11:59 p.m. on June 30 when the legacy pathway opportunity end.
Applicants who do not meet at least one of the legacy pathways must complete an approved training course and pass an examination approved by the Board designed to test for competency.
If not a legacy candidate, an application for Assisted Living Director (ALD) or Assisted Living Director in Residence (ALDIR) is required. BELTSS recommends individuals applying under this provision wait until on or after July 1 to gain the full benefit of the one year allowed to complete the requirements.
LeadingAge Minnesota is developing an educational program to deliver the required 120-hour training for the Assisted Living Director (ALD) or Assisted Living Director in Residence (ALDIR) applicants who do not qualify under the legacy pathways.
