Legacy Licensed Assisted Living Directors required to have 7 CEU’s on AL
Posted on January 13, 2022 by Bobbie Guidry
The rules for Licensed Assisted Living Directors (LALD) require licensees licensed through the legacy pathways to complete within the first year of licensure at least seven hours of continuing education in topics related to assisted living settings. On an ongoing basis, a LALD must complete 30 continuing education credits in qualifying areas within two years of the license renewal.
For the initial two-year cycle of renewals and clock hours beginning in Sept. 2022, for licenses expiring Oct. 31, 2022, 15 CEU's will be required, with at least seven on Minnesota's assisted living laws for legacy-licensed assisted living directors.
The Executive Brief, issued by BELTSS in December, contains important information regarding accessing, tracking and submitting your CEU’s and the license renewal process.
For purposes of renewals and obtaining and presenting continuing education credits, a year runs from Sept. 1 (prior year) to Aug. 31 (renewal year).
- Renewals begin Sept. 1.
- License Renewals occur EVERY year and no later than Oct. 1.
- C.E. Renewals occur on EVEN years only and no later than Oct. 1.
The LeadingAge Minnesota Institute offers ample opportunities to acquire the needed CEU's. Hope to see you there!
