Assisted Living Director License Renewal Begins Sept. 1
Posted on August 25, 2022 by Bobbie Guidry
Licensed Assisted Living Directors (LALD) are due for their first license renewal in September. The Board of Executives for Long-term Services and Supports (BELTSS), licensing board for LALDs, will issue a notice by the end of this week. It will include directions for licensees on how to renew their licenses.
Get the Notice
BELTSS will issue instructions on how to renew via email to each licensee. To assure you receive a message from BELTSS:
- Log onto your license online portal.
- Go to profile view.
- Check that your contact information is correct.
- To update your email address and mailing address, click on the blue pencil on the right side.
How Many Continuing Education (CE) Clock Hours Do I Need?
- If licensed before Nov. 1, 2021, you will need 15 CE clock hours between the date your license was first issued and Aug. 31, 2022.
- If licensed after Nov. 1, 2021, you will need zero CE clock hours during this renewal period. You DO still need to renew your license.
Tracking Your CEs
You are no longer required to submit your CE clock hours or upload those hours into your license portal. You will keep your own records of CE documentation and, if audited, will be requested to send in the CE attestation record sheet and supporting documentation. The CE attestation record sheet is on the BELTSS website under "Forms and Tutorials." You may also choose to use the CE Registry on www.NABweb.org. Remember to ensure clock hours are approved by MN-BELTSS or NAB/NCERS for Administrators/Directors.
