Weekly Resource Round-Up: COVID-19
Posted on April 21, 2020 by Jodi Boyne
This week we link you to six tools we provide over the past week: Surge Assessment; updated decision trees for the Confirmed Case Checklist and Managing a Resident Admission from a Hospital; a flow chart of E-FMLA and E-PSL; new guide for Independent Living and Housing with Services; and a messaging and letters to the editor for adult day providers.
Surge Assessment Tool: Designed to help you assess and strengthen your surge preparation plan, this tool is divided into five categories: Clinical/Operational; Supplies; Staffing; and Crisis Communications. Resources are provided in each category to provide examples that you can use as a reference or to customize your organization’s plan. We'll keep this tool updated based on current guidance and recommendations from federal and state agencies.
Checklist: Confirmed Case Containment: Updated to reflect guidance on screening all essential visitors upon arrival, conserving PPE and using alternative face masks – practices you may already have in place.
Decision Tree: Managing a Resident Admission from a Hospital: Updated to reflect additional detail from the April 8 MDH guidance on managing admitted residents and when you can discontinue transmission-based precautions.
E-FMLA & E-PSL Flow Chart: Use this guide to navigate the new Emergency FMLA (E-FMLA) and Emergency Paid Sick Leave (E-PSL) and determine which leave may apply to a specific situation.
Independent Living & Housing With Services Toolkit: Get an overview of federal and state guidance, a precautions checklist, answers to frequently asked questions and a sample tenant/resident letter.
Adult Day Services Messages & Letters to the Editor: Use this toolkit to help place a letter to the editor or contact the media to feature the services you are providing, value you are delivering, and need to be reimbursed for these services during COVID-19.
