Terri Foley to Retire from LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation

Posted on November 30, 2023 by Lori Meyer

Terri Foley, Program Officer for the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation, has announced her retirement after seven years with the Association and with a lasting impact on its Foundation.

Seven years ago, the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation hired its first Program Officer with the vision that the Foundation could become an impactful grant intermediary. We were so blessed to hire Terri and tap her demonstrated skills in grant writing and management. Because of her nonprofit background, Terri immediately connected with our mission and our members. And bonus—her experience in publishing meant her talents in writing and communications could be utilized to help tell the story of the Foundation.

Terri has made the decision to retire, but her contributions to our work will continue to make a difference. Consider this:

  • Over the past decade, the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation has raised more than $9 million to incubate solutions and support LeadingAge Minnesota members in workforce development, local home and community-based service coordination, mental health support, COVID-19-related initiatives, and piloting of new integrated care models for seniors. Much of this was accomplished due to Terri’s hard work and leadership.
  • As a grant intermediary, the Foundation has distributed over $6 million in grants directly to LeadingAge Minnesota members since Terri joined us.

Transition plans

As many of you know, Terri is passionate about books, travel, and spending time with her family and friends. Her retirement will allow her to do more of the things she loves. It goes without saying that we will miss her and all she contributed to our work and culture!

“It’s been a privilege to be part of the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation team and to serve our dedicated members for the last chapter of my professional career,” Terri says. “I will especially miss connecting with grantees and working closely with our project partners.”

Terri’s last day working with us will be Dec. 21.

Continuing the Foundation's work

Anyone interested in the Program Officer position is encouraged to check out the position description and submit their resume to Lori Meyer.
