Spreading Joy: Senior Card Writing Event Brings the Community Together

The Anoka County Community Action Program (ACCAP), a member of LeadingAge Minnesota, recently launched its first Senior Card Writing Event, encouraging volunteers to craft personalized cards for local seniors.
This unique event brought the community together, rekindling in-person volunteerism and making a meaningful difference. Anoka County Commissioner, Julie Jeppson, was among the group volunteering, calling the event, “a fun, fulfilling way to spend some time and a creative way to connect with seniors in the community.”
Thousands of handwritten cards were produced, offering seniors joy and connection. ACCAP's initiative is set to continue, strengthening community bonds through thoughtful acts of kindness.
