Renew Your Assisted Living License This Week to Avoid Fines
Posted on July 18, 2022 by Bobbie Guidry
Current assisted living licenses expire on July 31. Beginning Monday, Aug. 1, assisted living facilities operating without a license will be fined $250 per day.
This week, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) sent notices to those assisted living settings that have not completed the license renewal process. In it, they instructed assisted living settings should take the following actions:
- If you have not yet renewed your license, contact your MDH licensing team member to finalize your assisted living license application and avoid fees and fines.
- Please respond immediately if you have not replied to communications sent by the MDH licensing team member within the past few days. MDH identified problems with your application, which need to be corrected before renewal. Failure to respond to MDH will result in an automatic withdrawal of your application. Your payment will not be refunded.
If you cannot locate an email from the MDH licensing team or have other questions, please contact MDH at assisted.living@state.mn.us.
