Posted on February 13, 2019 by Julie Apold
If you took the Safe Care for Seniors pledge at Institute or are just hearing about the movement that was started during last week’s event, now is the time to learn more! Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 27 for a high-level overview of Safe Care for Seniors, including our goal to prevent harm in the course of caregiving.
The webinar is targeted at those who are interested in learning more about Safe Care for Seniors, what steps they can take as an individual to prevent harm, and how they can support the implementation of the action plan in their organization. We encourage anyone who made the individual pledge during last week’s Institute & Expo to participate. Topics include:
- Background on what led to the development of Safe Care for Seniors
- Overview of data from OHFC maltreatment complaints that informed the action plan
- Details on the Safe Care for Seniors pledge
- Review of the five-part Organization Action Plan
- Next Steps in the Safe Care for Seniors process
LeadingAge Minnesota members who attended January District meetings or Opinion Leaders have already received much of this information but are welcome to participate in the Feb. 27 webinar. We encourage you to invite members of your staff team to participate and learn more about safe care, and to stay tuned to Advantage and your emails for information on the upcoming Safe Care for Seniors regional workshops.
