Presbyterian Homes – Shorewood Landing to Host Candidate Forum Next Week
Posted on September 5, 2024 by Dan Nelson
This election season, LeadingAge Minnesota members around the state are hosting candidate forums to provide a platform for local candidates to discuss issues affecting older adults and Minnesota’s aging services sector.
We are excited to announce that another forum will be taking place next week.
Presbyterian Homes – Shorewood Landing, in partnership with LeadingAge Minnesota, will be hosting a forum on Tuesday, September 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cindy Ehlen, Campus Administrator for Shorewood Landing, has done fantastic work to organize her team and residents to host the forum.
Focus on Issues Affecting Older Adults and the Wider Aging Services Sector
This event will feature candidates running for open seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives and a special election for the Minnesota State Senate. We will host candidates seeking to represent district 45. Five candidates have agreed to participate: Andrew Meyers (R – 45A), Tracey Breazeale (D – 45A), Patty Acomb (D – 45B), Kathleen Fowke (D – SD45), Ann Johnson Stewart (D – SD45).
The event will be moderated by Erin Huppert, VP of Advocacy for LeadingAge Minnesota. Each candidate will have the opportunity to share how they would prioritize older adults and the issues affecting the aging services sector. Local community members are welcome to join us for the event.
We are excited and grateful to partner with Cindy and the rest of the Presbyterian Homes team to put on this event.
