Preparing for Assisted Living Licensure: Postings and Disclosures
Posted on March 31, 2021 by Bobbie Guidry
In preparation for assisted living licensure, LeadingAge Minnesota has developed a checklist to comply with new posting and disclosures required as a condition of licensure. You can use the checklist to ensure you have all necessary disclosures, postings and information that must be provided, offered and made available upon request.
In 2019, after a long collaborative stakeholder process, the Minnesota Legislature passed landmark legislation that will usher in the next generation of assisted living services in Minnesota. As a result, on August 1, 2021, all assisted living settings in Minnesota must obtain an assisted living license.
The statute detailing the new licensure model combines all assisted living regulations into one chapter of law, covers all services and physical plant requirements and creates a license for a single entity responsible for all services. The new framework provides greater clarity and transparency for consumers, strengthened regulatory oversight and consumer protection, and maintains a senior living model that supports choice, options and the opportunity to age in place.
Members have access to information and tools on the LeadingAge Minnesota website. Sample templates for several of the required items are under development and will be available soon.
