Nursing Homes Invited to Join COVID-19 Project Echo Initiative
Posted on October 28, 2020 by Kari Everson
Registration opened this week for nursing homes to join a 16-week online learning collaborative on COVID-19 care and prevention—led by Hennepin Healthcare Systems and the University of Minnesota
through the Upper Midwest Nursing Home COVID-19 ECHO Collaborative.
The initiative creates a virtual community of practice for nursing home staff to engage with experts and their peers and share cases for real-time discussion and advice. This free educational program includes:
- $6,000 in compensation at the completion of the program;
- Continuing education credits;
- Use of the online ECHO model—an “all teach; all learn” methodology developed around case-based learning and active engagement;
- A team of experts to help facilitate and provide a weekly curriculum covering a broad scope of topics related to COVID-19 response and preparedness, safety, and quality improvement support.
This initiative is funded through a collaboration between the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Project ECHO, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to advance improvements in COVID-19 preparedness, safety, and infection control; and to promote quality improvement (QI) programs in nursing homes.
To be part of this new initiative register here—even if you previously signed up with Project Echo.
