New Requirement to Submit Documentation to QIOs Electronically
Posted on October 7, 2020 by Jeff Bostic
Effective October 1 of this year, a new federal rule requires the submission of all documentation to Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs) through an electronic submission method.
The QIO for Minnesota, Livanta, is providing a couple of different options for submitting medical records, beneficiary notices and other documents.
Many electronic record systems that care centers are currently using have the capability to submit documents to Livanta so that is the first option for members to look at as they comply with these requirements. There is also a waiver process available (see link above), so members may want to pursue that to continue sending documents by fax while they adjust to the new requirements.
