Posted on July 21, 2021 by Roni Falck
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued updated guidance for Adult Day Services providers focused on masking and vaccination status.
Updates include the following protocols:
- Participants, staff, volunteers, and visitors who are not fully vaccinated should wear a mask.
- Staff, volunteers, and participants who are fully vaccinated can resume indoor and outdoor activities without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart, except where required by other regulations.
- People who are not fully vaccinated should follow all prevention measures until fully vaccinated. Preventive measures include getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, and hand hygiene.
- Programs with people who are fully vaccinated and people who are not fully vaccinated, or with people whose vaccination status is unknown, should continue to use prevention strategies including mask use, physical distancing, ventilation by people who are not fully vaccinated, hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and other controls.
The guidance also provides resources for virus mitigation efforts and mental health support for staff, volunteers, and participants.
