MDH Presents Antibiotic Stewardship Policy Writing Workshop
Posted on May 29, 2019 by Sue Boyd
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is sponsoring workshops in July to support long-term care settings in writing an effective antibiotic stewardship policy. The workshops, which will take place in Marshall, Duluth and Saint Paul, are most beneficial when three to four individuals from the same setting, both clinical and administrative, are able to attend together. Workshop details:
- Dedicated time for long-term care infection prevention and control and antibiotic stewardship program teams to develop a comprehensive framework for an Antibiotic Stewardship Policy and program description.
- Guidance from technical experts for implementing the seven core elements for antibiotic stewardship into an Antibiotic Stewardship Policy.
- Use of a pre-workshop questionnaire and workshop template to write a policy tailored to a specific facility’s needs.
- Identify next steps for the review, contribution, and approval of necessary facility stakeholders.
The workshop will utilize the MDH: Minnesota Sample Antibiotic Stewardship Policy for Long-Term Care.
