MDH Launches Portal to Connect 1A Tier 3 Health Care Workers with Available Vaccines

The Minnesota Department of Health has launched a web portal to help identify health care workers in 1A Tier 3 who have not been able to receive the vaccine from their employers in an effort to connect them with vaccines that may become available.
Minnesota has a process for vaccinating healthcare workers and residents in assisted living communities and nursing homes; however, there are other healthcare workers that want vaccination. Currently, there is no specific process to systematically work through vaccinations for the 1A Tier 3 group leaving many of our healthcare workers wondering what to do next.
In an effort to start the process of vaccinating 1A Tier 3 healthcare workers and feather in some of the 1A Tier 3 group as vaccine comes available, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) created a web portal to collect information for health care workers who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 and would like to receive a vaccination. This effort is directed toward healthcare workers specifically in 1A Tier 3 and have been unable to obtain COVID-19 vaccination through their employers.
Using this web portal, individual healthcare workers or their employers can provide information to MDH and indicate a desire to receive vaccinations. MDH takes this information and sends it to the appropriate local public health agency. Local public health will contact the individual healthcare worker or the employer, whichever contact information is provided on the form, when vaccine appointments are available.
Vaccine is still in limited supply and MDH is careful to point out that filling out the form does not guarantee vaccination at this time; however, it will place the healthcare worker or employer on the list for when vaccine becomes available.
