LTC Pharmacy Update Conference Returns on Sept. 14

Consultant Pharmacists Inc. (CPI) will unravel some of the complexities of the regulation and guidelines for pharmacy services from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) “Mega-rule” of 2017 at is annual conference on Sept. 14.
Todd Johnson, Pharm.D and consultant pharmacist, and Aaron Muller, Pharm.D., will kick off the conference by sharing consultant pharmacy trends and reviewing the benefits of pharmacy medication management services for skilled nursing facilities, short stay rehab and home care.
Other conference topics include the preventing medication errors during a transition of care, survey trends, and local efforts to control opioid use, and prudent use of antibiotics. Analyzing the use of high risk medications and ideas to increase the safety when used in health care settings will also be reviewed.
