Legacy LALD Applications Due on June 30
Posted on June 23, 2021 by Libbie Chapuran
The legacy pathway for the Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) sunsets at the end of the month, and applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on June 30. If you don't hit the apply by then, you’ll need to meet the new Assisted Living Director or Assisted Living Director in Residence requirements that begin on July 1. Application verifications such as transcripts, resumes, official employment verifications can be sent in AFTER July 1 if needed.
As of June 18, over 2,500 LALD applications have been received. Board staff must perform a thorough review before recommending any professional license, and the process takes longer than expected. Typically, applicants receive an update to their online account in about 7-14 business days.
The Board anticipates the new online application for the Assisted Living Directors and Assisted Living Director in Residence license pathways around July 1 for those that do not meet the grandfathering minimums. All ALDIR applications received in July will be provided to the Minnesota Department of Health for the assisted living license application.
BELTSS has officially approved LeadingAge Minnesota's assisted living director program. For more information, visit LeadingAgeMN.org.
