LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation (LAMF) recently awarded more than $425,000 in COVID-19 grants to members to fund staff support and virtual adult day services in rural areas.
Forty-three member sites across the state received up to $10,000 to fund staff recognition, provide emergency cash assistance and relieve stress related to COVID-19.
Twelve rural adult day services programs were awarded between $5,000 and $10,000 to support virtual services for participants. Funds can be used for staff, technology, or other supports for older adults and their caregivers.
An independent review panel evaluated 120 grant applications, and the LAMF Board of Directors approved their recommendations.
Last July, more than $660,000 in COVID-19 grants were distributed to members in the first round of awards. LAMF has awarded over $4,125,000 in direct grants to LeadingAge Minnesota members since 2017.
