Yesterday, LeadingAge Minnesota, in partnership with Ebenezer Ridges Campus, hosted a special event to welcome Honorable Principal Secretary of Kenya Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, and representatives from the Kenya State Department for Diaspora Affairs.
The Principal Secretary of Diaspora Affairs met with healthcare leaders from around the state to strengthen Minnesota-Kenya partnerships. The event highlighted the significant contributions of the Kenyan diaspora professionals already in Minnesota’s healthcare workforce, specifically in long-term care. Thank you to our gracious hosts, the Ebenezer Ridges Campus team for making this event a success.
Expanding Global Partnerships
In January, LeadingAge Minnesota members traveled to Nairobi, Kenya to explore international recruitment partnerships with a delegation of Minnesota providers led by Rep. Mohamud Noor of the Minnesota House of Representatives. After visiting Kenyan officials in Nairobi, LeadingAge Minnesota and healthcare leaders from around the state came together yesterday to continue exploring partnerships and innovative solutions to expand pathways for foreign-born professionals and support the diaspora staff already in Minnesota.
LeadingAge Minnesota is eager to deepen these partnerships to give senior care providers opportunities to connect with qualified healthcare professionals abroad and support the Kenyan diaspora in our workforce. To connect with future opportunities related to this work, please reach out to Anna Mowry.
