Three LeadingAge Minnesota members represented the Performance Excellence in Aging Services program and shared how they are driving continuous quality improvement in their organizations during a panel presentation at the 2018 PENWorks Conference on May 3.
The 2018 Award of Merit recipients, Benedictine Living Community, Knute Nelson and Walker Methodist, shared strategies and examples of how to get started and continue moving forward on a path to excellence. Each focused on the work they did to identify, prioritize and address improvement opportunities in their organization and the benefits they have experienced from the program.
Panelists included: Brian Pattock and Dana Vetsch, Benedictine Living Community of Duluth; Katie Perry and Angie Urman, Knute Nelson; and Dawn Nash, Walker Methodist.
Performance Excellence in Aging Services was created by LeadingAge Minnesota in 2017 to help aging services providers innovate and improve the quality services and supports they provide to older adults. The continuous learning and development program is centered on the values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework, which focuses on seven core areas of achievement and improvement demonstrated by high performing organizations: Leadership, Strategy, Customers, Measurement, Workforce, Operations and Results.
PENWorks is an annual regional conference focused on continuous improvement and organizational attendance. It is attended by leaders from a broad range of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, government and education, focused on continuous improvement and organizational excellence – many of whom participated in the Performance Excellence in Aging Services session.
