Leadership Academy Fellows Conclude 2021 Program Year
Posted on December 9, 2021 by Barbara Landeen
The newest cohort of emerging leaders have completed their coursework and will graduate from the 2021 Leadership Academy at the Institute & Expo in February.
Thirty-six leaders representing a diverse range of professions, service settings, and geographic locations formed the class that has been meeting virtually and in person since early June. Through 4 multi-day sessions, the class embraced the opportunity to gain valuable leadership tools and resources, build relationships, and apply their learning to real-life challenges. They represent the next wave of transformational leaders in our field.
Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, tremendous challenges and loss, and a historical crisis in workforce shortage, the leadership fellows banded together to learn fundamental leadership principles that will equip them to carry our field forward. Their time together included Leaders in Residence sessions with President & CEO Gayle Kvenvold and several notable LeadingAge Minnesota members throughout the state who shared their insights and wisdom in small group conversations.
As part of their coursework, each leadership fellow implemented an Action Learning Project that addressed a challenge or opportunity in their organization and led the project using the skills and tools gained throughout the year.
Leadership Academy fellows are mentored and supported by a group of volunteer coaches who are graduates of the program. This year’s program sponsors were LeadingAge Minnesota Savings & Solutions and Healthcare Services Group. Thank you!
We congratulate this year’s graduating class and invite members to join us in celebrating their achievement during the Institute General Session on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.
