Jane Houlton, Guardian Angels in Elk River, Named Board Trustee of the Year

Jane Houlton, a board trustee at Guardian Angels in Elk River, was recently honored by LeadingAge Minnesota with the Board Trustee of the Year Award.
The award honors a volunteer board member in an older adult services organization whose leadership, service and actions have enriched the lives of older persons and enhanced their community.

“Jane’s significant dedication, vision and advocacy has helped us provide innovative health, housing and supportive services for seniors. She embodies our mission and values, and we are appreciative for her service to our community and those we serve,” said Andrea Swayne, Vice President/Chief Operations Officer, Guardian Angels.
Houlton began her service as a board trustee in 1980. She has been a key leader in strategic planning and chaired two capital campaigns that raised more than $1.7 million to fund expansion projects. In addition, Jane also volunteers at several local organizations including the Courage Center, Elk River United Way, Elk River Library and the Lionsgate Academy for children with autism.
