Important Change in CEU Tracking for Nursing Home Administrators
Posted on March 20, 2018 by Bobbie Guidry
How nursing home administrators track continuing education from national providers is about to change. The National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) will be eliminating paper certificates of attendance and using an electronic database for all reporting of national continuing education. The change is effective April 1.
The national continuing education sponsor will validate attendance electronically and NAB will serve as the depository for continuing education. Minnesota BENHA will have access to the national Continuing Education Registry. BENHA is planning an automatic download of the approved continuing education vendors into your license renewal in 2019.
The new tracking system will be beneficial for administrators who receive national continuing education through AHCA, NCAL, LeadingAge, Argentum, McKnight’s, ReliaStar, etc. Administrators who receive continuing education from national providers should register at www.nabweb.org. If you get all your education in Minnesota, you probably don’t need to register.
BENHA also requests nursing home administrators log in to your online account during March or April to verify your address and email. If you have issues with your password, email BENHA for a reset code.
