Affordable Housing: Key Issues to Know During COVID-19
Posted on April 8, 2020 by Bobbie Guidry
The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) hosted a call this week covering COVID-19 issues in affordable and multi-family housing, including funding, eviction moratorium, signature guidance, income recertifications and visitor guidance. HUD has also provided a detailed frequently asked question document.
The call with HUD this week was recorded and members can access it here. To see a summary of key issues including funding, evictions and visitor guidance and documentation, read: HUD Staff Review New COVID-19 Funding, Other Issues.
The Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) document covers a wide range of topics for providers to use during the COVID-19 emergency including policy and operations, resident health, property reviews, inspections and appraisals, waivers and extensions, and continuity of operations with staff who may be working remotely.
If you are a HUD building, we encourage you to review this FAQ from HUD. Please know the FAQ is updated as new information becomes available. We will continue to track COVID-19 related updates for affordable housing and share information with you as it becomes available.
