Posted on December 5, 2018 by Heidi Simpson
The issues our organizations face are complex, the scrutiny is intense, and the stakes are high. It has never been more important for boards to act as partners in leadership with the CEO and senior team. Not-for-profit leaders and board members are invited to attend the Feb. 6 Governance Intensive during the upcoming Institute to explore governance as leadership and adaptive work.
Cathy Trower, Ph.D. is nationally known for her expertise on board policies and best practices, leadership, organizational change, strategic thinking and shared governance. Trower will lead this dynamic half-day session, delivering practical guidance to bring governance as leadership to life and improve organizational performance.
The Intensive features a leadership panel from the newly formed organization Cassia, an Augustana and Elim affiliation. CEO Bob Dahl, Board Chair Gary Wilkerson and Board Vice Chair Nikki Weber Daniels will share the untold story of their journey through a governance lens, and how the governing boards worked together to combine two similar yet very different service organizations.
Leadership and board teams are encouraged to attend together. Separate registration and fee are required; reduced fees are available for board members. See details here.
