First Round of Infection Control Payments Headed to Nursing Homes Next Week
Posted on October 28, 2020 by Jeff Bostic
Federal authorities announced today that they will be distributing about $333 million in first-round infection control performance payments to more than 10,000 care centers based on their results battling the spread of COVID-19.
The funds will be distributed next week, authorities said. The rewards are being given to 10,631 nursing homes who met the performance standards for September, which is more than 77% of the 13,795 eligible. Overall, the recognized care centers “contributed to 5,000 fewer COVID-19 infections in nursing homes” in September than in August, officials said.
