Duluth Health Services Hosting Candidate Forum in Duluth
Posted on August 22, 2024 by Dan Nelson
This election season, LeadingAge Minnesota members around the state are hosting candidate forums to provide a platform for local candidates to discuss issues affecting older adults and Minnesota’s aging services sector.
We are excited to announce that one of those forums will be taking place next week.
Duluth Health Services, in partnership with LeadingAge Minnesota, will be hosting a forum on Thursday, August 29 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Viewcrest Health Center in Duluth. Chet Fishel, Administrator for Viewcrest, has done fantastic work to organize his team and residents to host the forum.
Candidates to Discuss Issues Affecting Older Adults
This event will feature candidates running for open seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives. We will host candidates seeking to represent Districts 8A, 8B, and 3B. So far, four candidates have agreed to participate: Shawn Savela (R – 8B), Natalie Zeleznikar (R – 3B), Mark Munger (D – 3B), and Mark McGrew (R – 8A).
The event will be moderated by Cami Peterson-DeVries, Vice President of Senior Services with St. Francis Health Services of Morris. Each candidate will have the opportunity to share how they would prioritize older adults and the issues that matter to the aging services sector. Local community members are welcome to join us for the event.
We are excited and grateful to partner with Chet, Cami, and the rest of the St. Francis Health Services team to put on this event.
