DHS Background Study Service Outage Resolved
Posted on March 6, 2025 by Mark Schulz
Each Tuesday, the Department of Human Services (DHS) conducts scheduled maintenance for the NETStudy 2.0 system.
Late in morning on Tuesday, Mar. 4, DHS posted notice the day’s scheduled maintenance update would not be completed by the mid-morning hour as expected. As of Mar. 6, the NETStudy 2.0 system is operating as intended after the service outage.
In the early afternoon of Mar. 5, DHS sent a bulletin to all NETStudy 2.0 users about the situation. The bulletin described the service outage and that it was affecting all aspects of NETStudy 2.0. DHS’ technical team actively worked to resolve the issue finding the interruption was a result of the scheduled maintenance implemented on Mar. 4. Within the bulletin DHS reminded users about the informational resources available to them. Early this morning on Mar. 6 DHS Background Studies staff informed us the interruption and issue creating it have been fully resolved, and NETStudy 2.0 is now functioning fully.
Information Reminder
A good source to check to see if DHS is aware of any system disruption situation is to check the department’s “Recent Communications” portion of its “What’s New” website or its NETStudy 2.0 System Maintenance website.
Additionally, DHS reminds providers and users of the NETStudy system the Background Studies Contact Center should be the first point of contact for concerns about the system, and can be reached at 651-431-6620, or email at dhs.netstudy2@state.mn.us.
Should you experience any NETStudy 2.0 system issues or have other background study questions, please contact Mark Schulz.
