Customized Living Providers Exempt from Assisted Living Licensure Urged to Complete DHS Survey by Monday

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and Public Consulting Group (PCG) are conducting policy research into the regulatory and financing issues affecting settings providing customized living services exempt from assisted living licensure law. affecting settings providing customized living services exempt from assisted living licensure law. The next step in the study is to conduct a survey to obtain additional stakeholder feedback on the Initial Research Report.
Please note the report is a revised version that includes updates to Section 4.2.1.2 HUD Policy, as identified by HUD representatives.
LeadingAge Minnesota members who fit the definition of providing customized living services in a setting exempt from assisted living licensure are encouraged to review the report in its entirety to inform your responses to the survey. You are also encouraged to complete the survey by the close of business on Monday, April 18. PCG will analyze the survey results to help inform additional research and formulate proposed recommendations. If you have any questions, please contact Sari Lelchook at PCG.
The research was mandated by legislation passed in the 2021 Special Session, Chapter 7, Article 13, Section 71. The statute allows the commissioner to provide recommendations to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees and divisions with jurisdiction over customized living services regarding appropriate regulatory oversight and payment policies for customized living services delivered in exempt settings.
