COVID-19 Guidance & Resource Round-Up
Posted on April 21, 2021 by Jonathan Lips
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) posted an update on April 20 to its Long-term Care Visitation Guidance Flowchart for Outbreak Status tool. MDH first released this resource a few weeks ago as a companion to its updated guidance on indoor visitation. The April update provides additional information to explain how outbreak testing and visitation intersect.

Members should also note that MDH revised its Beauty Shop Guidance for Long-term Care Facilities. Released April 13, this update includes only minor revisions to the prior guidance, such as adding the term “well-fitting mask,” noting that hand hygiene should be conducted before and after visiting the beauty shop, and updating a link to guidance from the Board of Cosmetology.
Finally, if you missed it, we created a COVID-19 Notification & Reporting: Quick Reference Guide to assist members with keeping track of the reporting requirements that have emerged during the pandemic. The tool identifies the what, where and when of reporting and notes whether each requirement applies to nursing homes, assisted living, and adult day providers. Please contact Jonathan Lips with any questions, and we welcome your feedback about additions or improvements we should make.
