COVID-19 Coping & Support: Senior Care Staff Hotline and Webinar Announced
Posted on August 26, 2020 by Terri Foley
Being stressed out is a natural reaction to the extraordinary situation we find ourselves in during this pandemic, but after six months we are all struggling with exhaustion and chronic stress.
To help, the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation is launching a COVID-19 Coping & Support hotline for our senior care staff and leaders. You can arrange a 20-minute personalized coaching session where a professionally trained coach, through the Associated Clinic of Psychology, will listen to your concerns and talk you through coping strategies to build your resilience.
To use the COVID-19 Coping & Support Hotline, call 612-455-8656 or send an email to covidsupport@acp-mn.com.
For materials to communicate this hotline to your staff, we’ve developed a Staff Hotline Communications Toolkit including a flyer and posters.
As part of the hotline introduction, there will be a brief webinar on stress management and healthy coping skills on September 2 from 2:00-2:45pm. Click to register. The webinar—COVID-19 Coping Room: Building Your Own Resilience Roadmap—features Dr. Alyson VanAhn from Associated Clinic of Psychology. The webinar is designed for any level of senior care staff to help recognize their own personal signs of stress and identify healthy coping strategies.
The hotline and webinar are funded by the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation with a grant through the Minnesota Department of Health.
