Changes Coming to the Minnesota Nurse Aide Registry
Posted on June 22, 2023 by Anna Mowry
Coming later this summer, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is launching the “Nurse Aide Registry (NAR) Modernization Project,” a project to transition the nurse aide registry to a new digital format. This new and improved NAR portal will allow nurse aides and nursing homes to complete all their updates, reports, and communications electronically within the portal rather than via U.S. mail or email.
Within the new NAR portal, nurse aides will be able to:
- Update contact information
- Update employer information
- Print nurse aide certificate
- Submit certificate renewal information
- Submit an interstate endorsement application
- Communicate directly with MDH NAR staff for support
What should nurse aides and training programs do to prepare?
- Ensure you receive the latest MDH updates by signing up for GovDelivery email communications. More information regarding this project will be coming soon.
- Nurse aides and training programs should verify the accuracy of the candidate’s name, date of birth, SSN, phone number, and email address when registering for the test. This data must match the new system for nurse aides to successfully register and create accounts.
- MDH is working to transfer current data into the new system. Nurse aides will be able to set up their accounts after they receive notification from MDH.
Stay tuned for more updates from MDH on this upcoming change.
