On this Veteran’s Day, LeadingAge Minnesota and our members join those throughout our country honoring veterans who have served and sacrificed.

In Sept. 2021, 13 new members joined the ranks of LeadingAge Minnesota. Of the new members, ten are housing/assisted living providers, and three are business partners.

Saint Therese has announced the appointment of Lisa Kalla to the role of chief operating officer, with responsibility for the overall daily operations of the nonprofit organization. She will work with leadership to implement Saint Therese’s strategic vision and values; direct, administer and coordinate internal operational activities; and manage the campus executive directors.

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal has selected Erin Shvetzoff Hennessey, CEO of Health Dimensions Group, to receive a 2021 Women in Business award. Erin serves as Director at Large on the LeadingAge Minnesota Board of Directors.

The LeadingAge Minnesota Board of Directors approved an executive position profile at its meeting last week, and the search for a new President and CEO of LeadingAge Minnesota has commenced.

With much deliberation and collaboration with the district officers, that upcoming district meeting will be virtual, given the spike in COVID-19 cases and the difficulty in getting away from your communities.

In August, 50 new members joined into the ranks of LeadingAge Minnesota. Of the new members, two are adult day providers, one is a care center, three are home cares, 27 are housing/assisted living providers, 15 are individual associate members, and two are business partners.

At the 2021 Annual Business Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 23, members will be asked to ratify the LeadingAge Minnesota Board of Directors recommendation to establish a minimum dues policy for dues payable beginning in Jan. 2022.

The 2021 LeadingAge Minnesota Nominating Committee, chaired by Mark Anderson, CEO of Knute Nelson in Alexandria, has proposed a slate of candidates to fill open positions on the LeadingAge Minnesota Board of Directors.

Award categories include Caregiver, Volunteer, and Board Trustee of the Year, Outstanding Leadership, Spirit of Aging and the new Rising Star Award. Excellence in Practice organizational awards are for performance improvement and Safe Care for Seniors initiatives.

Guardian Pharmacy of Minnesota, a LeadingAge Minnesota Business Partner, announced a new location in Minneapolis.

The new 12,000 square-foot Minneapolis facility will house new technology/automation and a training center to provide in-service and nursing instruction courses for pharmacy employees and community staff members.
