Caring Careers Start Here: Recruiting Directly for Providers
Posted on April 29, 2020 by Jenna Kellerman
LeadingAge Minnesota is participating in an effort that will soon begin recruiting people interested in long term care through Caring Careers Start Here.
Caring Careers Start Here originally began as a campaign from HealthForce Minnesota focused on recruiting students into long term care careers and is now being redirected to recruit displaced workers specifically during the COVID19 pandemic.
The tool is still be finalized, but it is expected that displaced workers will be directed to this site where they can learn about entry level careers, such as caregivers, culinary staff, or housekeeping. From there the candidate can select a career they are interested and will be connected to provider members in their area who may be hiring for those positions.
On the other side of this equation, provider members will receive notification from LeadingAge Minnesota when a candidate in their area is interested in a job. If you are hiring for that position, you will be given an opportunity to reach out to this potential candidate. Candidate information will be shared with all employers in that area. It is expected that employers will provide necessary training to create a successful environment for the worker.
More detail and formal processes to come. Contact Jenna Kellerman with any questions.
