Caring Careers Start Here: Linking Job Seekers to Senior Care Providers
Posted on May 5, 2020 by Jenna Kellerman
LeadingAge Minnesota is participating in an effort that recruits people interested in long term care using the Caring Careers Start Here platform. Caring Careers Start Here originally began as a campaign from HealthForce Minnesota focused on recruiting students into long term care careers and is now being redirected to recruit displaced workers specifically during the COVID19 pandemic.
The website features short explanations of common positions in long term care, such as caregiving, culinary, and housekeeping, and allows the job seeker to fill out a survey indicating their interest, credentials, and location.
Once a job seeker completes the survey, LeadingAge Minnesota and Care Providers of Minnesota receive a daily list of people interested in jobs around the state. If someone in your area is interested in a career in long term care, a LeadingAge Minnesota team member will send you the contact information to reach out to that person. If you wish to connect with the interested party, act fast! Other organizations near you will be receiving the same information.
It is expected that providers train staff upon hire, as many displaced workers will not have related previous experience.
