Care Comes First Advocacy Campaign
Posted on May 2, 2024 by Dan Nelson
Earlier this spring, we launched the Care Comes First (CCF) campaign, aiming to spotlight the real Minnesotans behind every legislative proposal—individuals seeking access to quality care, individuals working as caregivers, and individuals supporting loved ones in long-term care.
The campaign launched across all social media channels on March 18—the same week that advocates from LeadingAge Minnesota went to the Capitol to encourage stronger state support for long-term care.
It's critical that we highlight the human dimension of our work—the lives we impact and the individuals we serve. We're not just a line item in the budget; we're an integral part of the compassionate community that enriches Minnesota and deserving of state investment.
We are using this opportunity to offer a viewpoint and narrative outside of the immense financial and crises we are facing by elevating the voices and stories of those directly impacted by the lack of funding for senior care. Spokespeople representing the seniors who rely on us, their families and the dedicated caregivers who deserve more from our state serve as the face of the campaign and help humanize the current challenges. The campaign has been disseminated through social media and targeted advertising in key legislative district.
