Care Center Regulatory Updates Available from MDH and CMS
Posted on August 7, 2018 by Jonathan Lips
The Minnesota Department of Health has posted the recording and transcript of its July 16 statewide regulatory conference call for care centers.
The call featured information from MDH staff on a variety of topics, including frequently cited deficiencies, the Department’s federal complaint investigation process, and an update on Group A Streptococcus (GAS) outbreak in long-term care facilities and wound care infection prevention recommendations. For a summary of the call, members may review our July 18 Advantage article.
Care centers should also note that CMS has posted updated material to its survey resources webpage. A CMS table identifies the revisions made to selected survey documents effective August 4. Notably, the agency has updated its Frequently-Asked-Survey-Questions document to include seven questions and answers relating to bed-rails (the new content appears in red font).
