On Dec. 3, 2024, Bob Dahl, President and CEO of Cassia, formally announced his plan to retire in January 2026.
Storied Legacy
Dahl recently completed 30 years in leadership, first at Elim Care, then at Cassia, following the merger with Augustana Care in 2020.
“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as the leader of Cassia,” Dahl said. “I love our tagline ‘Serving All by Following One’ and our mission ‘to foster fullness of life for older adults in the spirit of Christ’s love.’ I love the people we serve, and I love the people I share the work with: the 5,000 amazing Cassia team members.”
Leadership Succession Process
The announcement of Dahl's retirement sets in motion a carefully planned leadership succession process, with strong support from Cassia's board of directors.
“The board of directors is grateful for Bob’s leadership and commitment to our mission for the past 30 years,” said Chip Parks, chair of the Cassia board of directors. “We have begun the process of preparing for a new leader and anticipate a smooth transition in the coming year.”
The Cassia board of directors has appointed a selection committee to lead the nationwide search for a new leader and has retained a professional executive recruitment firm to support that effort. Applications will be accepted by CarterBaldwin Executive Search beginning in February and Cassia plans to have the new CEO in place in the last quarter of 2025.
Excited for the Future
“I am excited for the future of Cassia,” Dahl said. “I believe that even now, God is preparing a person to lead this ministry into the future when new generations of people will be served. Our mission is right, our culture is strong, and our board and leaders are dedicated to continuing our work.”
Cassia provides independent and assisted living communities, memory care, skilled nursing care centers, short-term rehabilitation centers, adult day programs and a variety of community-based services for older adults across five states.
