Posted on December 30, 2021 by Libbie Chapuran
LeadingAge Minnesota has selected Kari Thurlow as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. She will begin her new role on Jan. 3.
Many of you know Kari very well in her current role as the Senior Vice President of Advocacy at our Association. Since 2006, Kari has led LeadingAge Minnesota's advocacy efforts on state and federal issues. She came to the Association with a strong law and public policy background and holds a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a B.A. in political science and communications from Concordia College.
The aging services sector is at a transformational moment as we continue to fight COVID-19 and to address the significant workforce challenges. Kari has the experience and the vision to move us forward together to serve Minnesota’s seniors. She brings strategic thinking, visionary leadership, a solid commitment to our collaborative culture, and a personal passion for ensuring all Minnesota’s seniors have access to the care they need.
Under the strong leadership and tireless dedication of Gayle Kvenvold, our long-time president and CEO, LeadingAge Minnesota has built a foundation of excellence for aging service providers in Minnesota. We look forward to the leadership of Kari as she builds upon that foundation to ensure older adults in our state can age with dignity, meaning, and purpose in all the places they call home.
The Board of Directors selected Kari following a thorough executive search process led by board and staff members.
We hope you join us in offering Kari your best wishes as she begins her new role with the Association.
