The Bipartisan Policy Center is hosting a Health & Housing Task Force Regional Forum on Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Humphrey School. The event is free.
The Bipartisan Policy Center is a non-profit organization that drives principled solutions through rigorous analysis, reasoned negotiation and respectful dialogue. As the only Washington, DC-based think tank that actively promotes bipartisanship, the Bipartisan Policy Center works to address the key challenges facing the nation. Its policy solutions are the product of informed deliberations by former elected and appointed officials, business and labor leaders, and academics and advocates who represent both ends of the political spectrum
The Sept. 24 forum begins with an opening keynote from Senator Byron Dorgan, a senior fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center. Dorgan is a former U.S. Senator and U.S. Congressman from North Dakota who currently serves as a senior policy advisor for a Washington D.C. law firm.
Following a discussion on the federal budget, the afternoon features panel discussions on two focus areas: Scoping the Challenge – Addressing the Future Housing and Health Needs and Making it Happen – Increasing the Supply of Housing with Supportive Seniors for Seniors, which will be moderated by Gayle Kvenvold, President/CEO, LeadingAge Minnesota.
LeadingAge Minnesota members Marvin Plakut, President/CEO, Episcopal Homes and Dale M. Fagre, CEO, Avinity are featured panelists at the event.
