BELTSS Seeks New Appointee for Board Service
Posted on December 23, 2021 by Libbie Chapuran
The Minnesota Board of Executives for Long Term Services and Supports (BELTSS) has announced that there will be an open position appointment to meet Minn. Statutes 144A.19 for “one licensed nursing home administrator or health services executive member actively engaged in the management or operation of nonprofit nursing homes or assisted living facilities.”
“This position has been so capably served by Jennifer Pfeffer, LHSE, Sr. Regional Director for Ecumen, since 2006 or four terms of a four-year appointment. Jennifer is a consummate professional with high standards, and we will miss her faithful service on the board,” stated Randy Snyder, Executive Director of BELTSS.
According to BELTSS, this position has typically been a LeadingAge Minnesota representative and is open to anyone who meets the statutory definition.
BELTSS licenses health service executives, nursing home administrators and assisted living directors. The board is comprised of ten members appointed by the Governor, as well as ex-officio members from the Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Human Services. The ten members appointed have rotating board terms expiring in January of each year with the roster on the board website. Public Members serving as health licensing board volunteers are always in high demand.
The open appointments process for a four-year term of service is initiated by completing an online filing with the Secretary of State's office. The electronic applications are forwarded to the Governor’s office for review and appointment. The Governor's appointments staff works with the applicants to make the appointments and presents those finalists to the Governor for the official appointment. BELTSS does not make the appointment.
