BELTSS Extends CEU Period for 2021, Awards Clock Hours for COVID-related Education
Posted on February 24, 2021 by Bobbie Guidry
In a message sent to current licensees last week, the Board of Executives for Long-Term Services and Supports (BELTSS) communicated several important messages to currently licensed Nursing Home Administrators.
For the 2021 license renewal cycle, CEUs can be earned through June 30. This will accommodate earning CEUs during the LeadingAge Minnesota Institute in May.
Additionally, clock hours are being awarded for COVID-related education. As a result of the influx of experiential and alternative learning gained through the COVID period, BELTSS will accept content presented by State and Federal regulatory and disease control entities. Licensees who choose to claim CEUs under this provision must submit a request reporting learning outcomes that occurred due to their participation with MDH, CDC or local public health authorities related to pandemic planning, infection control best practices, staff relations or education, QAPI or any performance observations and be asked to record a response justifying the requested hours. The response will be reviewed and accepted by the Board, who will approve up to 10 clock hours for the renewal period ending June 30.
