Be the Bearer of Instant Joy with Random Acts of Kindness
Posted on September 15, 2021 by Julie Apold
When you do a Random Act of Kindness, the hormone oxytocin (the “feel good” hormone) is produced in your body. Studies show that doing a random act of kindness will:
- Decrease anxiety, stress, and depression
- Protect your heart and improve your immune system
- Make you happier
- Help add ten years to your life
- Diminish pain perception
Self Care for Safe Care Instant Joy Cards can be printed and used throughout your community when performing random acts of kindness. Encourage everyone in your community to complete at least one random act of kindness a week. Happiness is contagious; pass it on!
Visit the Self Care for Safe Care site to find all the resources and tools for bringing Random Acts of Kindness to your community in September and October. This is the first of six Self Care for Safe Care activities designed to build our resilience and increase our sense of happiness and well-being.
