Assisted Living Bill of Rights – Complete Yours Today!
Posted on July 28, 2021 by Kari Everson
Implementation of assisted living licensure is only days away, and there are many process changes to both operational and clinical work. A new Assisted Living Bill of Rights was created and posted on the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) website many weeks ago. Organizations are required to ensure all residents living in assisted living receive a copy.
However, the Assisted Living Bill of Rights posted on MDH's website is missing a few pieces of information, and the Department reports they are not planning to update the bill of rights document in the near future.
LeadingAge Minnesota has an updated version that does have all the required information. You can obtain this document in two different ways. An electronic copy is posted on the LeadingAge Minnesota website, where communities may download and use it. This copy includes space to enter the provider contact information and the contact information for other agencies as required by statute. The LeadingAge Minnesota store has packages of the bill of rights, including other required notices and signature areas, available for purchase.
