Adult Day: Impact of Mandated Closure on Participants and Family Caregivers
Posted on August 5, 2020 by Roni Falck
A recent survey of LeadingAge Minnesota members illustrates the negative impact of the nearly four-month mandated closure of Adult Day Services on participants and family caregivers.
Without Adult Day Services, participants required higher levels of care, increased pain medication and experienced other changes in health status. Participants sustained losses in cognition, mobility and strength while increasing feelings of isolation, anxiety and depression. Family caregivers also experienced feelings of stress, depression and anxiety.
Providers and other interested stakeholders may use this infographic to illustrate the importance of the service on participants and family caregivers.
