Adult Day: Help Strengthen Data to Shape and Influence Public Policy Decisions
Posted on July 31, 2018 by Roni Falck
During her recent keynote address at the Adult Day Conference, Ruth Katz, Senior Vice President of Public Policy/Advocacy or LeadingAge, discussed the importance of strengthening the data story for Adult Day Services. Adult day members can now shape that story by participating in a national study.
Katz referenced the National Study of Long Term Care Providers (NSLTCP) that is organized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics. The study is ongoing data collection effort to gather and report information about the characteristics of Adult Day Services programs, other long-term care providers and the people they serve.
The 2018 study collects data from randomly selected samples of adult day programs throughout the United States. New this year, NSLTCP will collect demographic, health, functional status and service utilization information for two randomly selected center participants. Adult Day Services programs selected to participate in the study will receive an informational packet from RTI International, the contractor for the study. Access the NSLTCP Participant Portal to learn more.
As the NSLTCP is a primary source of data for key decision makers, we strongly encourage members to complete the study in order to build a comprehensive Adult Day Services data story The 2018 questionnaire and data from previous surveys can be found here.
