65% of Caregivers are Always Looking for a Better Job
Posted on January 23, 2018 by Jodi Boyne
When caregivers were asked their preferred work setting, assisted living and care centers failed to make the cut, according to the Caregiver Trend Report released by mycnajobs.
Caregivers listed hospitals as their preferred work setting, followed by private families and home healthcare agencies. Assisted living ranked fourth, while care centers were the least preferred work setting for caregivers.
The report also cites that caregivers find higher wages and better working conditions outside of healthcare. Eighty percent of caregivers said they would prefer to work for one company if they could get the hours they want, and that it is easier to get preferred hours working in a retail setting or fast food restaurant.
The report also found that 65 percent of caregivers said they are always looking for a better job and 97 percent are open to other job opportunities at any given time.
