2 Days Left for Summer Health Care Internship Employer Applications
Posted on April 10, 2018 by Jenna Kellerman
Employer applications are being accepted through Friday, April 13 for the 2018 Summer Health Care Internship Program. Skilled nursing, home care providers and adult day centers are encouraged to participate.
Internships help build a pipeline for workers in our organizations by allowing students to explore health care careers and gain experience in a long-term care setting. Interns will be students in their junior or senior years of high school, or post-secondary students enrolled in a healthcare program. Consider an intern to assist with:
- Welcoming new residents
- Assisting with administrative tasks
- Helping with activities and outings
- Assisting with documentation
- Researching, collecting, or interpreting data
- Visiting with residents
- Kicking off a new program
- Designing recruitment or retention strategies
Up to half of an intern’s wages are reimbursed through a grant from the Minnesota Department of Health. The employer application form is available here. The application deadline is Friday, April 13 at 5 p.m.
For more information, visit the Summer Health Care Internship website or contact Sarah Bohnet.
